AdecoTech's Migration Methodology
AdecoTech’s Migration Methodology (AMM) is a four phase proven framework consisting of analysis and discovery, design, implementation, and on-site/remote support. The framework is based on years of experience in the NOS Directory, Messaging and Data migration space and based on the best of breed migration tools. This allows us to provide a structured migration path to Microsoft’s Active Directory and Exchange 2007. AdecoTech believes in keeping it simple!
Analysis and Discovery
The Analysis and Discovery Phase allows our consultants to understand the business aspects of your corporation’s merger, acquisition or divesture. By conducting a technology discovery of the current environment, this allows AdecoTech to gather the specific details needed to build a proposed migration solution.
Design
The Design Phase is focused on providing the details required to
achieve the proposed migration solution through an accelerated but
methodical process, through what has been detailed in the Analysis
and Discovery Phase.
Design Phase deliverables include, but are not limited to, detailed
migration design, a detailed list of tasks, schedules and the
validation of the design in a lab.
Implementation
The Implementation Phase consists of production pilots, hosting port mortems, incorporating lessons-learned, migration execution, documentation and continued mentorship, according to the detailed designs and against the defined schedules.
On-Site and Remote Support
The Support Phase is focused on providing the appropriate level of on-site and remote support needed throughout the production migration project. By using remote control tools like Webex, our consultants can virtually remote support our customers and partners without the high travel expenses incurred.
Education and Mentorship is a vital ingredient to the success of any migration project, especially for the customers and partners who want to execute the migration plan in production on their own. Mentorship is not done at one specific Phase of a project but done throughout the entire project.
By communicating migration best practices and how to avoid the migration “pitfalls”, this allows our consultants to better prepare the customer and partner for the migration work ahead.
